Going Back in Time Casual Couple Photoshoot - Kaydon & Jovin
Going back in times when we had our couple photoshoot with Kaydon & Jovin where we visited Colbar, Wessex Estate and an abandon water tank.
First photoshoot location: Colbar
We had our first photoshoot location at Colbar, an old-school Kopitiam from the 1950s. I really loves the authentic retro vibes, originally an old British army canteen. Beyond its iconic wooden doors, there are old school table and chairs as well as ceiling fans, as well as walls decorated with framed pictures. The owner was kind enough to allow us to have a photoshoot there as long as we didn’t disturb their customers.
Second photoshoot location: Wessex Estate
Next, we went to Wessex Estate which is an area exclusive made up of colonial-style building constructed in the 1930s. The buildings were built by the British prior to Singapore independence to house British military personnels and their families. By 1970, these buildings were returned to the Singapore government when the British army left Singapore. The colonial-style buildings with the vast lush greenery at the surrounding makes it another ideal place for casual couple shoot. Kaydon & Jovin were also open to many of my ideas during the photoshoot.
Third photoshoot location: Abandoned Water Tank
We also went to an abandoned water tank which laid within neighbourhood of Wessex Estate. The tall concrete tank, equipped with a long vertical rusty ladder. It is really a rare sight to see an abandon structures in Singapore.
Couple photoshoot with their car
Lastly, we had a couple photoshoot with their car along the road. This is their request to take as they are selling off their car soon. This car probably held many beautiful memories during their dating times and sentimental reasons.
Traveled back in time
Wessex Estate area is indeed a great place for engagement or prewedding photography. A place that allow us as a photographer to go wild with creativity on our photograph. Beside enjoying the photoshoot, walking through the areas allow me to stay away from the rest of bustling Singapore. Where I feel like transported back in time where life is much simpler.
