A Korean-Singapore Wedding at Hilton Singapore Orchard

A Korean-Singapore Wedding at Hilton Orchard Singapore (Tea Ceremony + Hanbok March-In)

As a wedding photographer in Singapore, I get to photograph many different weddings — but I always find cross-cultural weddings especially meaningful. Recently, I had the chance to photograph a beautiful wedding at Hilton Singapore Orchard, where the groom is Singaporean and the bride is from Korea.

The whole day felt like a perfect mix of tradition, modern elegance, and personal touches that really reflected who they are as a couple.

Starting the Day with a Chinese Tea Ceremony

Their wedding programme began with a Chinese tea ceremony, which is always one of the most heartfelt parts of the day.

It’s a simple tradition, but the meaning behind it is huge — showing respect to the elders, receiving blessings, and officially welcoming the bride into the family.

As a photographer, I love capturing these moments because they’re so real. You’ll see parents getting emotional, relatives smiling proudly, and the couple trying their best not to look too nervous (but still smiling the whole time).

Wedding Dinner Banquet at Hilton Singapore

After the tea ceremony, the celebration moved to the dinner banquet at Hilton Hotel Singapore.

Hilton is one of those venues that always looks good — the ballroom setup is classy, lighting is nice, and the whole atmosphere feels very polished. It’s a great choice for couples who want a wedding that feels elegant without being too over the top.

Once the guests settled in, the excitement really started building for the couple’s march-in.

First March-In: Classic Western Gown and Suit

For their first march-in, the couple went with a timeless look — the bride in a beautiful western wedding gown, and the groom in a smart suit.

It was a really elegant entrance, and the ballroom energy was amazing. Everyone was cheering, phones were out, and you could tell the couple was genuinely enjoying the moment.

Second March-In: Korean Traditional Outfit (Hanbok)

And then came the part that made the night even more special — their second march-in, where they changed into Korean traditional clothing (Hanbok).

The moment they walked in, you could hear guests reacting right away. The colours, the details, and the whole look of the Hanbok was stunning. It was such a meaningful way for the bride to represent her culture, and it added something really unique to the wedding.

Honestly, it was one of the highlights of the night — not just visually, but emotionally too.

Cake Cutting and Traditional Toast

After both march-ins, the couple went into the classic wedding programme: cake cutting and a traditional wedding toast with their guests.

These moments always feel more relaxed. The couple gets to slow down a bit, enjoy the night, and celebrate properly with everyone around them.

The toast was full of laughter and warmth — and you could really feel how much love and support they had from both sides.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings Like This

Weddings like this are always special to me because they’re more than just a wedding day — they’re about two cultures coming together, two families meeting, and a couple creating something meaningful for themselves.

As a wedding photographer, what I focus on isn’t just the “important moments”, but also the small ones — the nervous smiles, the proud parents, the quiet moments between the couple, and the little reactions from guests.

Because those are the things that make the wedding feel real.
